– The Madrid scene will have two places to participate in the MUS with the Movistar Open Qualifier in Tetuán
Madrid is breathing skateboarding and this will be evident in the fourth edition of Madrid Urban Sports to be held from 16 to 18 June in Madrid Río. The best national and international skaters are preparing to storm the new StreetPlaza with two spots made for the occasion: the Congreso de los Diputados spot and the Puente de Juan Bravo spot.
Modules that will be dominated to 200% by Danny León from Madrid, who returns to the MUS after missing it in 2022 due to injury. Facundo Quiroga, Adriel Parmisano, Adrien Bulard and Ivan Monteiro are some of the riders who have also confirmed their participation in the competition.
In the women’s category, Virginia Fortes returns to the MUS after her knee injury to reclaim the gold medal she won in 2021. Her Brazilian compatriot, Giovana Santos has also confirmed her attendance and will cross the pond to fight for at least a podium finish at the MUS.
The star of the women’s Skateboarding line-up is Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games fifth place finisher Roos Zwesloot, who will be preparing for the Rome event at Madrid’s StreetPlaza. The Dutchwoman will put her clockwork precision on all the skatepark’s modules with a clear objective: gold at the MUS.
The StreetPlaza is putting the finishing touches on Saturday 17 June to welcome the best national and international skaters: the Men’s Semi-Finals will be held from 14:00 to 15:30h, with a short break until sunset, where the Women’s Skate Final will take place from 19:30 to 20:30h. At night, the best tricks will be performed, to close the second day of competition with the Men’s Skateboarding Final, from 21:00 to 22:15h. A perfect plan to enjoy skateboarding in the city with the most skateable spots in Europe.
2 tickets for the MUS at the Movistar Open Qualifier
The Madrid scene will not only be present in the spots of the streetplaza, as it is already a tradition, the MUS organizes the Movistar Open Qualifier on Saturday June 10th from 16 to 21h, in the SkatePlaza de Tetuán. Registration is now open for this competition for all skateboarders in Men’s and Women’s categories who want a place to participate in the Madrid Urban Sports 2023.
On Friday 16 June, the Movistar Cash4Tricks will also take place at the Skatepark Ignacio Echeverría, the skateboarding hero, a competition that will bring together amateurs and pros who will fight for €800 in cash for the best trick of all.
