Madrid Urban Sports: The best urban sport lands again in Madrid Río-Matadero

– All the Olympic disciplines of urban sports will be represented in the third edition of Madrid Urban Sports, which returns to the city from June 16 to 18. 

 

– The Olympic Breaking and BMX qualifiers are the highlights of this third edition.

 

Madrid will once again host the fourth edition of Madrid Urban Sports, a sporting event where culture and urban sports come together on the esplanade of Madrid Rio – Matadero, which will take place, in its third edition, on June 16, 17 and 18. Madrid will be filled with adrenaline with the four main disciplines of urban sports: Skateboarding, BMX, Breaking and Scooter. A city event that will once again be open to the public and reflects the vibrant and cosmopolitan spirit of the city of Madrid.

The event is a unique opportunity for urban athletes to showcase their skills and creativity in high-level competitions and for the public to live a unique experience full of spectacle and excitement, filled with Olympic athletes and accompanied by great icons of each of the sports disciplines.

From Madrid to Paris: Breaking and BMX qualifiers for the Olympic Games

Breaking will come to Madrid Rio-Matadero for the Breaking For Gold, the international world championship of this urban discipline that will make its debut at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The competition will bring together the best BGirls and BBoys of the moment to win a ticket to Paris, and take this discipline to the top of history. 

BMX will bring together the best athletes of the C1 circuit, promoted by the UCI, which will give some extra points to Paris for those who manage to get on the podium of the Central Park. 

Street Plaza and Central Park: The big stages of the MUS

Once again, the parks will be the main attractions of the MUS; the Central Park and the Street Plaza have been remodeled for the occasion and present new spots and surprises that will leave no one indifferent. 

The Central, with its large ramps of more than 4 meters high, will host the sports disciplines of Scooter Park and BMX Park. 

The street plaza, the crown jewel of the MUS, will host the kings and queens of Skateboarding.

Promoting women’s sports

Women’s sports will also be widely represented in 2023, with all disciplines represented. The people of Madrid will be able to vibrate with the best competitions in the world.

In this third edition, Madrid Urban Sports once again has the support of the Madrid City Council and the Business Forum, institutions that contribute to position the capital as a benchmark for urban sports worldwide.
