Roller Freestyle comes on strong
29/09/2021
  • Two competitions, men’s and women’s, with eight competitors each
  • Spain’s Mery Muñoz and Raül Quiles are among the favourites

One of the sports that is coming strong to Madrid Urban Sports 2021 is Roller Freestyle, a discipline that will take place in its entirety on Sunday 10 October.

The best Roller Freestyle riders will be grouped into two categories: Men and Women. Each of them will have eight participants, who will fight to climb to the top of the podium in a competition that always leaves us with spectacular images.

A guaranteed show that will revolutionise all the inline skating fans in the capital, who also fill Madrid Río Park every day.

The event will have a Central Park specially designed for the occasion and located in the Explanada Negra, which will become the stage for this sporting show.

On Sunday, the finals

The first big Roller Freestyle final will whet our appetites. Between 13:05h and 13:45h, the final of the women’s category will take place, which will be the first medals in this new discipline, with very serious medal options for Bilbao’s Mery Muñoz, who will be the top Spanish candidate to win a medal in Madrid.

Later, from 16:10h to 16:45h, it will be the turn of the men’s final. On a national level, the Spanish champion Raül Quiles will be present at the Madrid Urban Sports and will be the centre of attention in his quest for a medal.

Captivating sport

Roller Freestyle athletes perform tricks, acrobatics and figures in the Park, a space made up of structures and different modules such as ramps, handrails and stairs that recreate urban formats. Skill is the key quality in a discipline that captivates spectators.
